Slowing Down Childhoodby Vince PoscenteAuthor of The Ant and the Elephant, Invinceable Principles and The Age of Speed Here is an unedited note from a colleague. I thought of writing something clever but Elizabeth said it best: Hi Vince, Just found and connected with you on Plaxo - read your blog in 70 seconds (or less). I'm the "almost U.S. Olympian shooter from Alberta". Thought you'd enjoy hearing what my 14 year-old daughter told me yesterday. We had been shopping at a local school's annual garage sale, and I had noticed that my daughter Eileen (a twin) had been at my side for most of the hour that we were there. In fact, I had noticed that for the last several weeks, she had been at my side...or greeting me at the door with a shining smile...or hugging me goodnight-three times...or running errands...or just sitting quietly with me. So, yesterday, surfacing to this awareness, I asked, "Eileen, you've been so sweet and attentive recently...I have loved it...but is there anything different going on in your life?" And Vince, her answer was AMAZING! She said, "Well, Mama, I wanted to make my childhood slow down - I want to enjoy these moments with you."
Warm Regards, To all our American readers, may this Thanksgiving be full of "delicious moments" with your family and friends. If you don't take a break for American Thanksgiving... Until next week it’s full speed ahead,
